More Than Just Tutoring.
We believe that tutoring isn't only about the content that you learn, but also about the relationship you build with your tutor. We make sure that every student has an individualized plan and that every session is customized to the student's needs. For younger students, they are assessed during their first session to determine what type of learning style would best fit them as well as what level they are currently at. For older students, since they are independent, they will communicate with the tutor to let them know what it is they are struggling with or what they would like to improve on.
We don't only teach! We help develop healthy study habits and discipline which will stay with students for a lifetime. We keep students motivated and on track which has been proven to increase productivity. Our students have demonstrated success and progress throughout the years, and we are proud of each and every single one of them!
About the Founder and Lead Tutor
Meet your founder, Melissa. With a passion for learning and teaching, Melissa has been a private tutor for 15 years. It started off as a part-time job working at an elementary school as a homework assistance monitor, but quickly grew into a passion and later into a business. Sculpting young minds, and watching out for that "ahha" moment when a student finally gets it is what makes this so fulfilling for her. Melissa graduated from Concordia University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts with a Specialization in Sociology. It was after that, where she discovered her love for working with different people and being in a social setting. She then attended McGill University and obtained a Graduate's Diploma in Human Resources Management, and has been working in HR ever since. She always kept her tutoring business alive, by maintaining her contacts at the elementary and high schools, and has helped many students succeed and actually enjoy school. She worked for many years at various elementary schools as well as local learning centers. What she loved the most, though, was working independently. She has helped hundreds of students succeed in the last 15 years. She has a loyal client base, some of which have been with her since 2010 when she started which demonstrates how meaningful relationships are and how comfortable students become with her. "My students and their families are like my family. I treat them the same way I would treat my own siblings. Some of my students do not need tutoring anymore, but chose to continue our sessions because of the strong bond we have created." Melissa has watched her students grow and move onto university. "It is such a bitter sweet watching my students graduate and go onto college and university. I am so proud of them." Many of her students have graduated as honor students and with distinction, which she is super proud of.
